Experience the magic of the Arctic night in a small group while discovering the science, stories, and beauty behind the Northern Lights.

Go beyond simply seeing the Northern Lights and discover the story behind one of nature's most fascinating phenomena. This small-group experience combines science, local stories, photography and the beauty of the Arctic night into an unforgettable evening in Finnish Lapland. We believe that understanding the Northern Lights makes seeing them even more magical.

Your adventure begins with pick-up from your accommodation in the Saariselkä or Ivalo area. Before setting off, we carefully analyze the latest weather maps, cloud cover and Aurora forecasts to choose the most promising route for the evening. Depending on the conditions, we may head towards the open landscapes of Lake Inari or explore the forests around Saariselkä and Ivalo.

As we travel through the Arctic wilderness, you'll discover far more than just the search for the Northern Lights. Learn how the Aurora is created, why it changes color and intensity, why forecasts are never guaranteed, and why cameras often capture colors that our eyes cannot see. Along the way, we share fascinating stories, Finnish beliefs and insights into life above the Arctic Circle, giving you a deeper understanding of the landscape surrounding you.

Throughout the evening, we make several carefully chosen stops to enjoy the Arctic night, admire snow-covered forests and frozen landscapes, and search for the best viewing conditions. While warming up with a hot drink and a local snack, you'll have plenty of time to ask questions, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and simply take in the beauty of Lapland after dark.

Whether you're using a professional camera or simply your smartphone, we're happy to share practical photography tips to help you capture the Northern Lights. At the same time, we capture natural portraits and landscape photographs throughout the evening, allowing you to stay fully present while still taking home beautiful memories of your Arctic adventure.

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed. However, by combining careful planning, flexible routing and local knowledge, we always give you the best possible opportunity to experience them. Even on quieter nights, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of the Aurora, unforgettable memories and a genuine appreciation for the magic of the Arctic night.
